PALAZZO MOLIN, FONDAMENTA DELLE ZATTERE, CANALE GIUDECCA, VENICE
The Palazzo Molin alle Zattere is a very antique structure, dating from the 13th century. It has belonged to a family of the Venetian aristocracy. Fully restored at the end of the 19th Century, in the 20th Century it has been largely transformed to fit in the needs of "Adriatica", later incorporated in "Tirrenia", two leading Italian ship companies.
The exhibition space in use for CAP incorporates the former ticket office of Adriatica and the large entrance hall of the Palazzo Molin. A nice marble fountain, originally decorating the ball Room of an Italian cruiser, still springs water in the hall.
